Youth and First Hunts

A first hunt, set up so a young or new hunter can learn properly: time at the range, a patient guide, and a hunt chosen for a good chance of success, such as spring turkey, a cow elk or an antlerless deer.

Planned

• Range session before the hunt
• Parent or mentor welcome alongside
• Field dressing and care of the meat taught on the spot

Good to know

• Oregon requires hunter education for hunters under 18.
