Oregon Trail Wagon Train
IdeaSeason: June – September
Price to be announced
Covered wagons and outriders on horseback across the ranch's Blue Mountain ground near Meacham, on the line the emigrants took over the mountains. The wagons and teams come from a wagon outfitter, with their own teamsters. Each night is the ranch's wall-tent camp, with beds, a camp cook and a fire, and along the way you walk the original wagon ruts on foot.
As we plan it
- Three or four days, with two or three nights in tent camps
- Ride in a wagon, or ride a ranch horse alongside
- Beds in canvas tents; meals from the camp cook
- A guided walk on the original ruts
Good to know
- Wagons and horses travel on ranch roads beside the ruts, never on them, so the ruts stay as they are.
- Just want to ride, or camp? See Horseback Rides and the Wall-Tent Camp.
- We are deciding whether to run this. Register interest and tell us when you would come, how many are in your party, and whether you would rather ride or drive.
